چکیده

Purpose: To explore the efficacy and safety of the mechanical thrombectomy device AngioJetTM for the treatment of acute deep venous thrombosis (DVT). Methods: A total of 14 patients with DVT undergoing percutaneous mechanical thrombectomy (PMT) between January 2016 and September 2016 were included. PMT was performed after a temporary inferior vena cava filter was implanted. Thrombus clearance was assessed by angiography. Patients with severe residual vascular stenosis underwent angioplasty, and urokinase was administered postangioplasty for thrombolysis. Follow-up visits were at the first, third and sixth months after surgery. Results: Complete recanalization (grade III) was achieved in 12 patients and near-complete recanalization (grade II) in two patients. Three patients underwent iliac vein stenosis balloon dilatation, and five patients underwent stent implantation. Hemoglobinuria was present in eight patients and subsided within 24 h after surgery. Oliguria was not present. No serious complications were reported. During follow-up, one patient had recurrent swelling of the lower extremity, which was resolved after an iliac vein stent was implanted. No thrombus recurrences of previously affected vessels were reported in other patients. Conclusion: AngioJetTM can quickly reduce thrombus burden and improve vascular recanalization rate. The application of this device is safe and effective for the treatment of acute DVT in clinical practice.

Long-term outcome of transfemoral thrombectomy in patients with acute iliofemoral vein thrombosis

Abstract Background: The optimal therapy of acute iliofemoral venous thrombosis is still a matter of debate. The purpose of our study was to evaluate the late results of iliofemoral thrombectomy with regard to the prevention of the development of a Post Thrombotic Syndrome (PTS). Methods: During 2000-2003, 18 patients underwent transfemoral venous thrombectomy for acute iliofemoral venous thro...

Role of penumbra mechanical thrombectomy device in acute dural sinus thrombosis

BACKGROUND In dural venous sinus thrombosis (DVST), the mortality ranges 5-30%. Deep venous system involvement and septic dural sinus thrombosis have a higher mortality rate. In acute occlusion, collateral flow may not be established, which may result in significant edema and mass effect. Endovascular interventions may be considered as a treatment option in appropriate high-risk patients with D...

Invasive approaches to treatment of venous thromboembolism.

Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) occurs in one-quarter of a million individuals annually in the United States and results in significant disability from pulmonary embolism and chronic venous insufficiency, especially when the proximal iliofemoral is involved. Treatment has centered on early institution of adequate anticoagulation to prevent thrombus propagation and embolism, but anticoagulation alone...
